 RUMOURS being shared around social media suggest Lamine Yamal's apparent romance with rapper Nicki Nicole has proved short-lived.

Reports from outlets in South America have suggested that the music star has instead moved on to a new muse.

That would be Yamal's rival, and Nicole's compatriot, Argentinian playmaker Franco Mastantuono.

The 18-year-old secured a move to Real Madrid in the summer from Argentinian club River Plate.

The fact the young star is the same age as Yamal, and the fact the Spaniard plays in a similar role for Madrid's heated rivals Barcelona, has sparked a rivalry between the two over summer.

That rivalry was fuelled further as rumours emerged that Nicole, who was reported to have started dating the Barca star just 13 days ago, had already swapped him out for the newcomer.

One fan on X commented: "Haha 13 days. Not even 2 weeks."

Another joked that Nicole "changes boyfriends faster than I take a shower".

But a large sect of fans have disputed the rumours, with some claiming that Mastantuono has been in an established relationship for a while.

One Barcelona themed account posted "Franco Mastantuono has been in a relationship with his current girlfriend Fio Augustinelli for quite a long time".

None of the individuals involved in the saga have commented on the rumours, including Nicole at the centre of the speculation.

The artist, whose full name is Nicole Denise Cucco, 25, has over 22 million followers on Instagram.

This is primarily driven by her music career, having almost 18 million monthly listeners on Spotify.

That level of fame was not enough for Yamal's father Mounir Nasraoui, however, who reportedly dismissed the artist when asked about the potential romance between her and his son.

He is quoted telling press: "These are kids' things. I don't know who she is.

"I don't even know her image, what her face looks like."

She has a history with footballing relationship rumours, and was also linked to a romance with Chelsea midfielder Enzo Fernandez in 2024
